We currently offer Edexcel’s Award in Digital Applications (AiDA) to pupils in Y11. This is equivalent to 1 GCSE and 100% coursework based. The work is based around a project set by the exam board and pupils have to produce a complete set of documents for this project.
This year pupils are working towards the You can do it project which is based around the governments small steps 4 life programme which encourages people to eat healthy, get active and feel good about themselves. Pupils have to complete a variety of tasks including:
• Creating and monitoring the project plan
• Researching possible foods to include in a healthy eating plan
• Creating a survey to find out what students currently do regarding the small steps 4 life programme
• Creating a spreadsheet to analyse the results of their survey
• Using a database to find possible foods to encourage people to eat more healthily
• Creating a set of documents including
-
A meal card to encourage students to try new foods
-
A presentation to explain the small steps 4 life programme to other students
-
A challenge card to encourage students to take up a challenge to become healthier
