Mathematics
The mathematics department comprises 4 full time maths teachers with an average class size of around 23 students. The department tries to ensure that class sizes are kept as small as possible in order for pupils to gain as much individual help and attention as possible.
Mathematics at NCHS is not only directed towards GCSE results, but also at extending students further and engaging the students in ‘real world’ mathematics. Students are taught how to analyse their work and how to determine the best way of answering a question.
The mathematics department has developed significantly over the past few years and the students achieve exceptional results at GCSE.
